Olive Picking Holidays

Picking olives in small groups can be great fun, very theraputic and stress free  - providing the weather is good - and normally for October and November it is usually quite sunny with temperatures in the mid 20’s, but it can get a little cold in the evenings mid November.

A day typically would be out picking olives after breakfast about 0900 until about 16.30 when it gets too dark. After this we move the fons (the pruned olive branches) and make a huge bonfire with flames nearly high as a house while savouring some Gluwein. Great fun!

After a shower/bath, change of clothes and some drinks, we can take dinner in one of the local restaurants (not expensive & VERY good) before frequenting one of the local bars, other evenings can be spent on the terrace with a great Italian barbeque. or for those just would like to sit around a warming log fire listen to some music, watch the large 55” television/DVD or even a touch of karoke - And for the really, really brave there is a nightly dip in our swimming pool - very cold!

There will be evening visits to local wine cellars that produce their own wines  and other foods, and of course a visit to both traditional & modern Frantoio to see how the olives are processed

We have all the tools to aid picking the olives, but you need to bring some old clothes and thin gloves with you and some warm clothes for the evenings

Food is not included but all accommodation, teas/coffees/wine & beer are!

Cost is just 100 Euros/week (the same for less than 7 days)

Ofcourse as a present for your hard work, you will be able to take a bottle of our excellent Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil on your departure. Incidentally the oil which is sold, the proceeds are given to various Rotary charities - so your effort is even more justified.

Obviously spaces are limited -if you are interested please contact us for further details and booking
