About Us

We bought Olive Grove Farm in the summer of 2004 primarily for our future retirement. We fell in love with the house, surrounding countryside and friendly villagers - and made the decision to purchase almost within two minutes of arrival! The followed two years of extensive renovation. To reduce some of the substantial renovation costs we decided to rent out Olive Grove Farm when we were not using it, as at present we live in England, although we spend many weeks during the year (when not rented).  Although mainly a summer property, it can be rented all year as there is good skiing and generally the winter weather is considerably warmer (and better) than England - with lots of sun! Although it does get cold in the evenings/nights!

Every November a few of my Whitstable Rotarian friends come out for a “boys only” week to pick the olives - and with 200 olive trees the farm produces quite a few litres of olive oil that we sell - the proceeds going to Rotary charities

Olive Grove Farm can be rented for normally a minimum of a week  (Saturday to Saturday), but under some special circumstances can be hired for a less (and of course greater) period.

We hope users will respect Olive Grove Farm as they do their own.

Olive Grove Farm is inspected both before and after you depart to ensure it is in a fit condition for you and indeed, the next inhabitants.

You and/or your family will have a lovely holiday at Olive Grove Farm, Serramonacesca. We really mean it when we say a holiday for all the family as you have total tranquility (and privacy) on the farm but with many activities just a short drive away! Abruzzo is really an undiscovered part of Italy - it has everything and “ticks all the boxes” - great weather - safe sandy beaches of the Adriatic - high mountains (our local one is 2700m) - skiing for many months - great countryside -tranquility - nightlife - cultural - history - great food &wine - and not expensive!

We have made friends with several local farmers that can provide a lot of extras - horse riding - cooking school - sailing - Italian family barbeques - and of course wine and other food tasting

If you own a property, in some circumstances there might be a possibility of exchange of property weeks, at the same time or at different times with us
